Air Fryer Miso Salmon

This savory-sweet miso salmon is full of bold flavor and comes together effortlessly in the air fryer. Marinated in a mix of miso, ginger, garlic, and a touch of sweetness, the salmon turns tender with perfectly crisp edges. Serve it over rice and top with sesame seeds and green onions for a simple, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 (1-inch) piece fresh ginger

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 2 tbsp white miso paste

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey

  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil

  • ¼ plus ⅛ tsp kosher salt, divided

  • Pinch of fresh ground black pepper

  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon filets

Pro tip: Serve over rice. Sprinkle sesame seeds and diagonally chopped spring onions over the salmon.

Instructions

  1. Peel and finely grate the ginger and garlic.

  2. In a bowl, combine ginger, garlic, miso paste, syrup/honey, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Whisk to make the marinade.

  3. Add salmon fillets, skin-side up, and marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

  4. Remove from fridge and let come to room temperature.

  5. Preheat air fryer to 400°F. Place salmon skin-side down and cook for 8–12 minutes until desired doneness.
